Marie White was born and raised in Glennallen, Alaska, where her family operated a full-service tourist lodge.  Marie obtained her undergraduate degree from Alaska Pacific University in 1984 then worked for Arco in their Anchorage office.  She moved to the Los Angeles area in 1987 where she obtained her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1990.  Immediately after graduating she relocated to Seattle, where she has lived since.  Marie worked for a little over a year for a Seattle law firm, then opened her own law practice in March 1991.  She has been a solo-practicing lawyer for the past 18 years, focusing almost exclusively on family law.

Xenia Aragon, Paralegal

Xenia Aragon obtained her paralegal certificate from Career College in Calgary, Alberta in 1996. She began her career in the legal profession in 1998 working for corporate, personal injury and criminal defense attorneys. She currently works full-time as a family law paralegal.

 

 




Our Philosophy

Every day that we are in court, we see people representing themselves, usually because they cannot afford a lawyer at $200 or more per hour.  Unfortunately those people make mistakes, not because they are not smart, but because the process is complex and confusing.  Many lawyers will not even take family law cases because of the complexity.  Many lawyers who practice family law don’t provide limited-representation services. 

We thought long and hard about how to offer affordable help to people who cannot hire an attorney.  Our solution is Pro Se University PS, where we can help you navigate the twisted path through your family law issues.  We do not represent you as your attorney of record for your entire case.  Rather, we provide affordable Attorney Appointments, Workshops, and other services to put the tools in your hands to help you through the process.
